Ultra-short

DanFootball is a real-time football league simulator. Register your team, bid on players in a live auction, set your lineup — then watch every match unfold minute by minute on a live pitch.

Summary

Three world leagues run in parallel — World 1, World 2 and World 3 — each with their own schedule, standings and promotion/relegation rules. Matches kick off at fixed times during the week and simulate in real time: every 3 seconds equals one in-game minute, and you watch the action directly on a live pitch with player positions, goals, cards and substitutions.

You manage a real team. Register during pre-season, choose your city and kit colors, then build your squad by bidding on players in the Players Pool — a constantly refreshed auction where players from 200+ countries expire after a few hours. Win a bid and the player joins your squad. Lose your bid and your credits are refunded.

Before each round, set your formation and starting eleven via the Lineup Manager. The engine uses your actual players in the match — their value, position and fitness all affect the simulation. Miss a round? The engine still plays your matches; you come back to results and updated standings.

Credits are the site currency (◈). You earn them through the season, spend them on player bids, match replays and shirt sponsors. Buy more via the Credits page if needed.

The League System

DanFootball has three world leagues that run simultaneously:

  • World League 1 — top tier, 16 teams, 30 rounds per season. Elite competition. Relegation for the bottom 3.
  • World League 2 — second tier, 16 teams, 30 rounds. Top 3 promoted to WL1; bottom 3 relegated to WL3.
  • World League 3 — entry tier, 7 teams, 14 rounds. Top 3 promoted to WL2.

Country leagues also exist for teams below WL3. Champions of each country's top division enter a Qualifier playoff for spots in WL3. Qualifiers are two-legged ties with extra time and penalty shootouts.

A new season starts every Monday at 00:00 UTC. During pre-season, teams are allocated to leagues based on their registration order and previous results. Promotion and relegation happen automatically at season end.

How Matches Work

Every round has a scheduled kickoff time. When the clock hits that time, all matches in the round start simultaneously. The simulation runs at 3 seconds per game minute — a full 90-minute match takes about 4.5 minutes of real time.

The live view (column 3) shows a top-down pitch with all 22 players moving to their positions. Events appear in a feed on the right: goals ⚽, yellow cards 🟨, red cards 🟥, substitutions 🔁, injuries 🤕, crossbar hits 🥅, saves, shots wide. The scoreboard updates in real time. Your team's active players are highlighted.

The match engine is probabilistic — every minute, pre-generated rolls (crypto-random, server-side) determine whether a shot, card, substitution or injury occurs. Player values, positions, formation and tactical bonuses all modify the probability. Your presence on the site during your team's match gives a +10% ATK/DEF bonus(the “Present” button in the scoreboard).

After a match ends, a Replay badge appears. You can replay any finished match for ◈1 and watch it at 0.5×, 1× or 2× speed, with skip/rewind controls.

Players & the Auction Pool

The Players Pool (column 4) is a live auction. New players appear continuously — each one expires after a few hours. Players come from 200+ countries weighted by FIFA tier, with realistic names, ages (16–38) and values (◈50–◈1500).

Every squad has 30 players across 10 positions: GK, DL, DC, DR, ML, MC, MR, FL, FC, FR. When you acquire a player, the weakest player in that position is automatically removed to keep the squad at 30. You can also sell players on the Transfer Market.

Players age between seasons. Players over 33 lose value. Players who drop below ◈100 in value retire automatically and are replaced. Top performers gain value.

Each player has a shirt name: Brazilians always get a nickname (Ronaldinho style); high-value players from other countries have a chance of a nickname too (25–75% depending on value); everyone else shows their surname.

Lineup & Formation

Before each round, set your lineup via My Players → Lineup Manager. Choose from 6 formations (4-3-3, 4-4-2, 4-5-1, 3-5-2, 5-3-2, 3-4-3) and pick your starting eleven. The engine auto-generates a Best XI if you skip it.

Anti-match-fixing rule:your lineup must include at most 3 players weaker than your Best XI equivalent. You can't field an intentionally weakened team.

Injured and suspended players are flagged. Injuries last a set number of rounds; suspensions consume on match-by-match. A player with a red card misses the next round automatically.

Credits (◈)

Credits are the site currency. You start with a balance and earn more through:

  • Season bonuses (finishing in the top half of your league)
  • Selling players on the Transfer Market
  • Shirt sponsor bonuses (if you have an active sponsor)
  • Purchasing credit packages ($3–$200)

You spend credits on: player bids in the auction (refunded if outbid), match replays (◈1 each), and sponsor bids.

Standings, History & Archive

Column 2 shows the current round's matches and a compact standings table. Click Ranking for the full table with form, goal difference, tiebreakers and position zone legend (promoted / relegated zones highlighted).

Click any team name to open their Team History: all seasons played, per-season stats, current squad with values and ages, and a match grid with replay buttons.

Past seasons (1–4) are pre-generated in the archive and accessible from the left navigation. Your own team's career stats accumulate across seasons — goals, assists, cards, appearances — and persist forever.

Sponsors

Three sponsor slots exist: the league sponsor (shown in the scoreboard header), the column 2 sponsor and the shirt sponsor(shown on your team's player image in column 3).

Shirt sponsors pay a credit bonus each season. You bid for sponsor slots via the Sponsors page in your dashboard. The highest bidder wins the slot for the season.
